Job Description

Salary: $135,000 - 230,000 per year Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in acquisition or transaction fraud model development or validation within the financial services sector, with familiarity in CI/CD frameworks preferred.
  • Experience in validating generative AI models, developing frameworks, or complex use case development.
  • Proven expertise in automating validation processes and minimizing cycle times using AutoML, generative AI, and related technologies, including the design and construction of necessary infrastructure.
  • Masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline; or equivalent 9 years of experience in model development/validation in financial services, banking, or retail.
  • At least 4 years of practical experience with data science and statistical tools such as Python, SPARK, Data Lake, AWS SageMaker, H2O, and SAS.
  • Minimum 4 years of machine learning experience, including managing large datasets and conducting trend analysis.
  • 4 years applying U.S. regulatory requirements for Model Risk Management.
  • Willingness to travel for business as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the establishment of a validation center of excellence for model validation, collaborating with the model governance lead to implement best practices.
  • Develop and enforce a comprehensive governance framework for generative AI models to manage risks such as hallucination, accuracy, and bias throughout the model lifecycle.
  • Initiate and maintain a quality assurance process to thoroughly assess and enhance validation practices.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in validation efforts and collaborate with the Model Governance team to implement solutions.
  • Serve as an incubation center for exploring and applying innovative approaches, particularly utilizing generative AI, to enhance the model validation process.
  • Enhance the model owner experience and strengthen the value-focused validation practice in partnership with the Model Governance team.
  • Oversee all facets of fraud model risk management, ensuring timely project completion with minimal guidance.
  • Supervise junior reviewers during validation projects while addressing escalated issues and disputes independently.
  • Facilitate issue resolution, root cause analysis, and risk acceptance as necessary.
  • Support regulatory audits and internal examinations pertaining to the modeling process and selected model samples.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as required.
