Duration: 3+ Months with possible extension
Compensation:

Local: $43 – $45/hr

Travel: $51 – $53/hr

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. The Surgical Tech plays a critical role in supporting surgical procedures by preparing, maintaining, and handling instruments in a sterile environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, with strong expertise in neurosurgery and proficiency in at least two surgical specialties, such as Orthopaedics, Robotic Surgery, or Endovascular Surgery.

Essential Job Functions

• Follow established protocols and surgeon preference cards to ensure proper setup and handling of surgical instruments.
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments; administer and label medications per policy.
• Handle surgical specimens according to O.R. procedures.
• Ensure proper decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and sanitation of instruments and surgical equipment.
• Dispose of contaminated instruments and equipment safely and per protocol.
• Assist the circulating nurse in patient care plans and participate in care planning conferences.
• Keep surgical tech skills checklist updated, including equipment familiarity and specialty case rotations.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., push/pull up to 400 lbs., and stand for the full shift.
• Adjust care based on patient needs, including age, culture, language, or impairments.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and performance standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience in an acute care facility – Required
• Strong experience in Neurosurgery – Required
• Experience in at least two (2) of the following specialties – Required:
• Neurosurgery
• Orthopedics
• Robotic Surgery
• Endovascular Surgery
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program – Required
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) – Required
• BLS – AHA – Required
