About the team:

The Software Engineering team is the backbone of our platform, driving innovation and building scalable, reliable systems that support our mission. This team works on a wide range of challenges, from streamlining data ingestion and improving platform performance to enhancing user experience and developing new features.

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer that will help us with our mission to empower healthcare professionals to find their dream job. This position is remote.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with product owners and designers to build modern, accessible, high-converting webpages.
• Lead end to end projects, architecting user workflows in React and Typescript with backend work in NodeJS.
• Ship iteratively starting from MVP and working toward feature rich solutions.
• Architect scalable solutions that are well-tested and documented.
• Create and maintain generative AI solutions for complex user data capture / integration challenges.

What we’re looking for:

• Front-end development experience in React (with TypeScript is a plus).
• Redux or similar state management tools.
• Back-end experience in NodeJS / Express development.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architectures, especially related services.
• Experience with SQL / relational databases like Postgres.
• Familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Strong communication skills across various digital platforms and collaboration tools.
• Experience with or desire to learn using generative AI APIs.

Our tech stack:

In our core stack we use React (web) / React Native (ios / android), NodeJS / Express (api server), npm / webpack / babel (packaging), Postgres / Sequelize (core data), SQS (task queues), Algolia (indexed data), Firebase (realtime db), ChatGPT APIs.

Our code is deployed on AWS and is mostly written in JavaScript / TypeScript though we use some Python. We strive only to choose the right tool for the job and welcome new ideas.

Potential projects:

This role will be focused on working on the Vivian.com website. Most work will involve working on the healthcare professional user interfaces:

• New user registration
• Existing user profile enhancement
• User job searches and job application flows
• SEO optimized pages

What we provide:

The range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 yearly salary, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule. Unfortunately, we are not able to support any visa sponsorship or transfer at this time.
