Position Overview:

Job Title: Prep Cook / Dishwasher

Location: Alpine Country Club, Demarest, NJ

Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

This dual-role position is responsible for preparing ingredients for meals and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen. Key Responsibilities:

Prep Cook Duties:

• Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients as directed by chefs
• Assist with basic cooking tasks such as mixing, marinating, or assembling items
• Label, date, and store prepared items properly
• Maintain a clean and organized prep station
• Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
• Assist with banquet or event prep as needed

Dishwasher Duties:

• Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of dish area, kitchen floors, and trash disposal areas
• Organize and restock clean dishes and supplies
• Assist with taking out garbage and recycling
• Ensure all cleaning and sanitation guidelines are followed
• Support kitchen team with other cleaning or prep tasks as directed

Qualifications:

• No prior experience required; kitchen or dishwashing experience a plus
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and food safety standards
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Interest in learning more about cooking or culinary career paths
