Client: Texas Children's Hospital (TCH)

Pay Rate: $32 to 34 +1/hr. for parking on W2 All Inclusive

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (36428555) 3 positions

Location: Houston , TX 77094

Job Type: 03 Months Contract

Shift: 3pm 11:30pm

Duties:

• To assist the pharmacist in the preparation, perform activities related to the repackaging and compounding, filling, and delivery of medications, and other tasks associated with dispensing in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult). Controlled Substances: Assists in the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of all controlled substances.

Assists the pharmacist in ensuring the appropriateness of all medication doses by correctly entering patient s diagnosis,

weight, allergies, and body surface area in the computer.

Follows aseptic technique and infection control in the preparation of sterile products. Completes annual recertification

and scores at least 90% on the aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam as documented by a qualified

observer. Insists other technicians and pharmacists practice aseptic technique and infection control.

Ensures the medications prepared are correct as verified by the pharmacist and as documented by a lack of dispensing

errors.

Demonstrates competence at batch/medication/prescription order entry.

Works with Pharmacy Support Services personnel to maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies. Follows

procedures established for stock replacement. Follows nonformulary procedures.

Obtains pharmacist initial/final checks and assigns dilution and expiration dating labels to medications according to

department standards.

o Registered Pharmacy Technician

o IV sterile compounding certification preferred, but not required

Skills:

Knowledge of current hospital and departmental standards for the handling of pharmaceuticals.

Incumbent have math skills, reading skills and good communication skills. Incumbent must be able to operate equipment

used in the preparation of sterile products.

Education:

Required- RPHT-TX - Reg Pharmacy Technician - TX State Board of Pharmacy Or PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern State Board of Pharmacy

Preferred- CPHT - Cert-Pharm. TECH Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

o Registered pharmacy technician with Texas State Board of Pharmacy

o IV sterile compounding preferred, but not required

TCH On boarding Process - Mandatory for all Candidates :

• Minimum 2 weeks needed to complete the on boarding process once offer is accepted
• Must clear the 7 years Criminal Background Investigation
• Education will be Verified by Background Check Agency or the Candidate should be able to provide proof of the minimum Education required as per the job descriptionSwamy
• Employment will be Verified by Background Check Agency
• Mandatory Lab Screens ( Drug Screen , MMR , Varicella , Tdap and TB Test ). Candidates can also share the old screening records so that we can check and then schedule the required screens accordingly
• Candidates cannot start on the assignment without completing the above. We will be scheduling and covering the cost for the above
