Job Title: Pediatric Surgical/Operating Room Tech
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Flex Shift – Days/Evenings | 8 hours per day | 5 days per week | 40 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Surgical/Operating Room Tech for our pediatric operating room. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of recent operating room experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center or equivalent large acute care/teaching facility. Candidates must be proficient in scrubbing for general surgery and specialty procedures such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, GU, and GYN.
ResponsibilitiesProvide surgical scrub assistance for pediatric and adult operating room procedures, including general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, GU, and GYN cases.
Anticipate surgeon’s needs and ensure sterile technique is maintained.
Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
Assist in positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
Adhere to all hospital policies, infection control, and safety guidelines.
Maintain effective communication with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
Perform duties independently with minimal orientation and supervision.
Minimum 3 years of recent operating room scrub experience (within the last 4 years) in a Level 1 trauma center, teaching hospital, or equivalent-sized acute care facility.
Scrub experience required; OB scrub experience highly desired.
Certification in Surgical Technology highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must not have had professional license or certification suspended or investigated.
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance, background check, and drug screening.
Ability to work in high-acuity settings with minimal supervision.
Required:
