Job Description

We are seeking a full-time page designer/copy editor to help us continue to be Northwest Arkansas' premier source of news and information. The winning candidate will primarily design pages for daily publication, including sports, news, special sections, and extra online pages for our e-edition. Some page design for the weekly publications may also be required.

This person will write eye-catching headlines, decide how news reports are presented on a page to increase impact and readership, and perform other duties as assigned.

Meeting deadlines is a must, as is experience in editing and Adobe InDesign. Basic journalism knowledge and knowledge of AP style are also required. Experience in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is helpful.

Experience at a local daily newspaper preferred, but experiences in a weekly or monthly publication or entry-level applicants will be considered.

The job requires sitting for extended periods while looking at a lighted computer monitor under deadline stress. The position is primarily nights and can include weekends. The candidate may be allowed to work some shifts from home.
