Orthodontic Dental Assistant

SUMMARY

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide best-in-class patient care.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments within the operatory and laboratory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and adherence to OSHA/HIPAA regulations.
  • Prepare impressions and/or models, and acquire clinical photographs and radiographs.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are prepared, adequately stocked, and sanitized prior to each appointment.
  • Accurately document all patient encounters in the patient record.
  • Assist with the bonding and cementation of orthodontic appliances, secure arch wires, fit orthodontic bands, and anticipate the Doctor’s needs at all times.
  • Integrate efficiency, productivity, and patient empathy into all actions.
  • Cultivate caring relationships with patients and provide them with quality education.

  • Hours: 3-4 days per week (27-34 hours), weekdays only.

TRAINING & EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license (preferred) OR
  • A desire and commitment to pursue the RDA license with paid on-the-job training.
