Music Director-Organist job at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church Howard Beach, NY, US

Job Description

Play the organ at all weekend Masses (anticipated Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses; final schedule TBD).
Serve as cantor when necessary.
Direct the parish choir (semi-professional, September-June) at the principal Sunday Mass.
Re-establish and direct a children's choir to sing periodically at Sunday liturgies.
Consulting with families for weddings and funerals
Oversee care and maintenance of the parish organ.
Maintain and expand the parish's music library.
Writing publicity materials
Arranging for substitutes during times of absence

Major Liturgical Duties: Christmas (Christmas Eve, Midnight Mass, Christmas Day). Sacred Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday). Holy Days of Obligation (Solemnity of Mary, Ascension, Assumption, All Saints, Immaculate Conception). Sacramental Liturgies (Confirmations, First Communions, Special liturgies as scheduled). Stipends: Funerals and weddings provide additional compensation per parish policy.
