Job Description **Purpose and Scope:** Amentum is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Finance & Accounting Intern** for our Summer Internship Program to support operations in Huntsville, AL. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, looking to gain real-world experience in a dynamic and mission-driven organization. This is a temporary role not to exceed 14 weeks. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis + Support budgeting and forecasting processes + Reconcile general ledger accounts + Help with cost tracking, invoice processing and audit preparation + Analyze financial data and present insights to team leaders + Participate in cross-functional meetings and special projects + Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures + Other duties as assigned. **Requisition Qualifications:** + Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Finance or a related field at an accredited university. + Completed at least 24 credit hours. + Minimum of 2.8 GPA. + Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite + Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position. + Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. **Preferred Qualifications** + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications + Excellent analytical and organizational skills + Ability to work independently and in a team environment + Knowledge of SharePoint Online and Power tools **Work Environment** Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. **Physical Requirements** Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). **Equipment and Machines** Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). **Other Essential Functions** Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
