Job Purpose:
- The Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant at the General Commission on United Methodist Men is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the organization. This role is crucial in managing day-to-day financial transactions, supporting organizational activities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Prepare and submit financial reports and summaries for management review.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring financial performance against budget.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and organizing files.
- Coordinate logistics for events and meetings, ensuring all necessary arrangements are made.
- Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and functionality.
- Support the implementation of office policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and provide assistance as needed to support organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
