Are you ready to help us make the future? The Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer role will be responsible for the analysis, design and development of advanced heat transfer products. The product line includes plate/fin and tubular heat exchangers, water separators, ozone converters and cold plates. You will perform heat exchanger heat transfer and pressure drop analysis, and water separator and ozone converter efficiency and pressure drop analysis including analysis of existing applications as well as sizing new applications for internal or external customers based on well-defined or loosely defined boundary conditions. The primary analysis methods will be based on bulk-average and empirical models but will also require the use of internally-developed finite difference tools. The annual base salary range for this position is $102,000 - $127,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Key Responsibilities + Fundamental heat exchanger, water separator and ozone converter performance analysis. + The design, development and qualification of heat exchangers which meet customer and internal requirements. + Identifying and resolving design problems of performance, weight, material selection and finishes. + Identifying and incorporating best practices for product design. + Implementing development and qualification test objectives, writing test procedures, and overseeing the preparation of test units and the conduct of tests. + Assists in proposal and new business development efforts. + Coordinating activities to reduce test data and prepare test reports. **YOU MUST HAVE** + Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. + 4 years of product development in mechanical equipment experience. + 2 years of heat transfer performance analysis using bulk-average methods. + Ability to communicate via written communication (document files and presentations) complex results showing results benefits and cost of potential trade studies. Demonstrated written skills to communicate steps and results from test and analytical efforts. + Ability to clearly present the results to internal and external customers, vendors and stakeholders. **WE VALUE** + Mass transfer analytical experience. + Understanding of engineering principles of structural, fluid flow and heat transfer areas of mechanical engineering in the design and performance evaluation. + Ability to demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving to optimize a multi-variant problem associated with component and system design. + A self-starter without daily direction and be able to make informed assumptions to make progress on design and trade study activity. + Ability to effectively direct testing efforts and to think on one's feet to obtain meaningful, accurate results. + Strong management operating system that facilitates communication. + Understand business objectives and possess the ability to interact with our customers. + Persuade to influence other to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. + Business acumen, knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry.
